Six Tips Of How To Set Goals

The successful always have measurable goals that they have decided when they want to achieve them. In sports there are no stars who are successful without goals. Within business it is essential to set goals and most of those who fail have no concrete goal to look up to.

Today we will take a closer look at what it is that separates the wheat from the chaff. I meet daily, a number of people trying to create success in any way they can. I have quickly learned to distinguish those who achieve everything they want, from those who are stuck in the same place year after year. Now, what is the difference?

1. The successful have always set measurable goals for themselves and their activities. What goals have you set for yourself, your job, your business, your family, etc., that you must achieve before the end of the year 2008-2009? Here you need to have something concrete and measurable such as an economic objective, to marry, to start your own businesses, etc.

The reason that you need to set a measurable goal is because the subconscious is just acting on what your conscious gives it access to. If you create thoughts about success, health or anything else that is not measurable, it will not help your subconscious to create it.

Imagine a business partner says to you that now we will create success together. You become really happy and plan in detail how the company should be built up and that you are going to make $3000 a month. Time passes and you see that there is no change from your partner. One day you confront him and ask why he did not do his part to succeed. He says: I generate huge success because it is the first time in my life I'm free. It is my mission. So be sure to measure goals that are important for you to know where you're headed. Ask also those you do business with, what they have for goals to avoid misunderstandings.

2. The successful always set big goals that they know that they will achieve, but
do not always know how.

It means that you should challenge yourself to achieve what you really want. A good way to do this is to devote one or two hours to write down how you really would like your life to turn out during 2008-2009 or any other date you choose

Let your imagination flow and drop all thoughts of limitations. Once you have this down on paper then you have found what you are really passionate about. Follow this script and let nothing get in the way of what you dream about. The biggest hurdle now is to not dare to realize what you really want. There are many well-meaning colleagues, neighbors and family who say that what you dream of is not possible, and your plans collapse. Remember that it is you who knows what is best for you. Take responsibility for yourself and realize what you dream about.

There would not be any Ford or Microsoft if Henry Ford or Bill Gates did not follow their dreams, whether good or bad. Everything new which has been created has been done by individuals having goals and visions.

In my coaching throughout the years, the biggest challenge for almost all of my clients was having balance in their finances. So an economic goal is often a good start.

What does it take to set a good goal?

1. You should have passion for what you want to achieve
2. The goal should be measurable
3. You should have a date when the last goal will be achieved
4. You should write down the objectives in the present tense
5. You should really have a goal that includes finances, health and relationships
6. You should have a goal that is large enough so that you really do not know how you will achieve it

The best way to begin working toward your goal is to create a 'goal card' that you read 10 times every morning and 10 times every evening, so that you become one with that of which you want to achieve. The goal card should look like this:

Before December 31, 2008, I am so grateful that I generate $3,000 a month, I run at least three miles, three times a week, and I spend at least twenty hours of quality time with the family each week.

Three percent of the population sets goals that they achieve, while 97% of the population only stands around and get mediocre results. Do you want to be in the three percent who make things happen? Yes, it is time for you to begin already today before life rushes past you.

Good Luck!
